What is the best time of year to plant palms here?
Late spring into summer, when soil is warm and rain is reliable — palms root fastest then. They can go in year-round in Southwest Florida, but a summer planting establishes with less help.
How long until a new palm is established?
Six months to a year for most species, during which watering matters more than anything else. Bracing stays on until the root ball can hold it.
